Middlesex Community College uses Blackboard in our online classes. (Blackboard logo fades in).
You will logon to your Blackboard course using the MyCommNet portal web site. (MyCommNet logo fades in.)

This is the MyCommNet log in page. It is available at http://my.commnet.edu

Though each class may differ in subject and content, the layout and navigation is generally the same.

The Blackboard page is divided into two parts:
• the Course Menu and
• the content area or tool area

The links used in the Course Menu and the icons available in a content area will vary from course to course.

The Course Menu is located on the left. It includes class tools such as:
Announcements, Welcome, Mail, Syllabus, Course Content, Calendar, Discussions, Assignments, Tests, Learning Modules, and My Grades.

The Content Area is the biggest part of the browser window. It has a white background and takes up most of the right-hand portion of your screen.

Most of our online classes are syllabus-driven with an emphasis on weekly discussions or assignments.

Regardless of what course you are in, they have commonalities: Getting Started or Welcome is the place to begin your learning.

Carefully read the welcome message posted by your professor to get yourself on the right track in the beginning.

The Syllabus is your general guidance for the class requirements and when to complete you class work.
